I’m out of Bitwarden awaithing this feature, got tired of loging twice. There is a draft PR since may that is stale.
I’m a refugee from 1PW and their recent price increase. Between 4 browsers on one Mac, three on another, two on a Linux machine and then there’s my phone….I’m getting blisters from typing my master password! So I too would like to see browser extensions that unlock whenever the desktop app is unlocked.
This is one of most missing features, which works in other password managers like 1password.
From technical point of view Bitwarden already have some IPC tunneling made for DuckDuckGo integration as this browser do not support plugins and integrate directly with Bitwarden app.
Much of DuckDuckGo integration code can be reused to allow similar functionality in other browser via addons.
Hello, there are news regarding this feature? I’m trying to implement Bitwarden in my organization, this feature would be very useful because my users use 2/3 browsers and I cannot ask them to log in every time, and I don’t want to leave the session open for security purpose. With the app and windows hello unlock this would be perfect. Actually I use KeePassXC and this feature is present.
Work for this is in progress / being merged. They can be found tagged [Shared Unlock] on the clients and sdk repositories.
