Currently, you have to select a specific collection manually to search within it. The search runs over everything. As a feature, it would be useful to be able to search directly in fields and collections via the search engine.

It is already possible to search within specified fields.
So primarily, what you’re asking for is a new search term that can be used to filter by collection (instead of using the existing collection filter). For example, you would like to make a search expression like the following?
