I’ve been using Bitwarden for a while now and I’m very satisfied with its features. However, there’s one thing that I find a bit inconvenient: the requirement to enter the master password every time I want to retrieve an OTP password.
I understand that this is a security measure, but I would like to have the option to disable it for quicker access to my OTP codes. Is there a way to do this, or could this feature be considered for future updates?
When you say “OTP password”, do you mean a 6-digit TOTP code, or a 16-character Authentication Key (the secret code that is required if you want to set up a new authenticator app), or something else?
For the items that you are having problems with, have you enabled the optional feature requiring a “Master password re-prompt”?
I apologize for the confusion. By “OTP password,” I was referring to the 6-digit TOTP code. I was talking about the feature that prompts for the master password when copying the TOTP password.
I had been looking for such an ON/OFF option in the main Bitwarden settings. I just found the “Master password re-prompt” setting in the individual password editing screen, which resolves my issue. Thank you for your assistance.
