I searched and found the above topic on a very similar, but slightly different issue. Instead of receiving duplicate 2FA codes, I am receiving two different codes simultaneously, like one of the other users in that thread.
This started happening two days ago, May 14th.
Prior to this I would receive one code from ‘[email protected]’. Now I will receive a code from ‘[email protected]’ then about two seconds later I’ll receive an email from ‘[email protected]’. The second code received is the one accepted at login.
Other information:
Happens when using Chrome and Firefox.
Happens on Windows and Fedora42.
Before May 14th, I received a total of 3 emails from ‘[email protected]’: 10/9/24, 1/13/25, and 3/26/25. So this appears to be a backup mail account.
Not sure if this is something new, a regression of an old bug, or just a backup account/server that got activated, but I figured it was worth bringing up.
Received a response from support. They are aware of the issue and have prepared a fix to be included in the next release. They can’t provide an exact ETA, but are hopeful that the fix will be rolled out this week.
Hello, when accessing Bitwarden from my PC I use my email as a 2FA method, so after submitting the password I receive an email with the temporary code. However, since today, everytime I try to login, I receive two emails at the same time instead of one (and of course, the second code invalidates the first one).
The info at the bottom about account, date, IP and device type are exactly the same across the emails, so I don’t think there is someone else trying to access with my credentials. It’s not particulary problematic, just a bit annoying.
