We are currently experiencing an issue with the Bitwarden Chrome extension. Users who are already logged in can continue using the extension without any problems. However, if you sign out or attempt to log in again, new logins are currently not working.
@satheesh.n Welcome to the forum!
I cannot reproduce this issue on version 2026.3.0. What version do you have installed? What is the version of your self-hosted server? Please go to Settings > About > About Bitwarden and use the Copy button to copy and paste your environment information — as shown in the example below:
Version: 2026.3.0
SDK: 'main (7637fdf)'
Server version: 2026.4.2
When you scroll down to the bottom of the login screen, have you correctly selected your selfhosted server where in the drop-down selector labeled “Accessing”?
Have you checked your server logs to see why your authentication attempts are failing?
@satheesh.n Welcome to the forum!
Adding to @grb’s response: if you’re really dealing with a self-hosted server, you should also contact your admin for that regarding this issue.
PS: If you @satheesh.n are the admin of the self-hosted BW server – or can get the info otherwise – then please share a screenshot of the Admin Dashboard.
Hi,
I’ve been having a similar problems for weeks. When I first connect to my BW extension on Brave, it takes minutes before proposing to fill in the code. And after that, sometimes it is long for the extension to propose a code. I’m using version 2026.3.0.
Best regards
Please go to Settings > About > About Bitwarden and use the Copy button to copy and paste your full environment information.
Also, what do you mean by “propose a code”? Are you referring to when the extension prompts you to enter a PIN code for unlocking or a 2FA code for logging in, or are you describing some type of autofill process, in which the extension fills in passwords (or suggests new passwords) for online accounts?
Thanks to notify us!
Hope it will be fine soon for our great happyness
My Chrome Extension takes ages to load before I can enter my password to unlock it. I’m running it in Vivaldi
Version: 2026.4.1
SDK: ‘main (aaccd8d)’
Server version: 2026.4.2
@Mian @nickwar Welcome to the forum!
@nickwar Actually, I had the same thing one or two days ago. I had biometric unlock enabled for the extension… and I then found out, the latest update to desktop app 2026.4.0 unchecked the “Allow browser integration” option.
That seems to be one reason why the extension can hang on opening.
(in my case I disabled biometric unlock again – I guess it would also work to re-check “Allow browser integration” and/or set up biometric unlock again, if necessary)
I disabled the biometric and uninstalled the desktop app, I’m only running the extension and its so slow its almost unusable.
Ah, Sorry, I think I missed the “narrow thing” here – it’s probably this issue you’re experiencing: Chrome extension cause slow browser (you can also follow the bug report that’s linked there)
