OTP Token Number Incorrect on Destktop Browser Bitwarden

On a fresh linux installation, Firefox Bitwarden gave me a different OTP/token number for authentication than the mobile one.

After investigating I found out that it’s because the system time is not correct (new installation) but I thought to document this on this forum because after fixing the system time and set it to automatic, BitWarden was working correctly providing the same OTP/token number as the mobile.

Cheers!

I also encountered this.
It is not a “bug” actually. TOTP = Time-based One-time Password](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-based_One-time_Password_algorithm)

This means that it is time based. And if time is incorrect, it renders the generated OTP useless. I fixed it with synchronizing system time with time server.

Yeah it’s not a bug. I just thought of documenting for others who found same problem but don’t know the cause.

Thanks, clear
I also asked them to put it into HELP/FAQ section of Bitwarden website.
Before writing to support, I tried searching for TOTP issues/help but did not find it.
