I contacted Bitwarden Support an they stated currently you only get login email notification for unrecognized devices.
Although that sounds good in theory, I have recently changed public IP (vpn) and also my devices blocks fingerprinting, so new login should have triggered an email and it was not triggered. So it seems the feature is not working.
There should be an option to always receive a notification after any logins. Especially since it’s a password manager and has sensitive info, so it’s better to always be notified rather than supposedly get notified only on logins from unrecognized devices which, if it fails, it will fail silently and you would never know if someone breached your account (like it seems it’s happening already).
Then you could get two types of notification,
- “A login from an recognized device was detected: (and a checkmark
)” or - "A login from an unrecognized device was detected: (and a big warning icon⚠️).
This gives more confidence that the login notification system is constantly working.
