Option to adjust or disable autofill animation

As I got the notification, your answer addresses my post: I just wanted to know, which animation is in question here, that should be “adjusted” or “disabled” (like it is written in the title of this feature request) – and I wondered, whether this:

… is the animation that is meant – or rather: whether this is the only animation that is meant here?

(I know, there are other animations in the extension – but I assumed, the other animations can be disabled by Settings → Appearance → Turn off “Show animations” → or are there still other animations, than the GIF shows and that can’t be turned off by the Setting? = that was and still is my question)

This feature request started out as a proposal to disable (or speed up) the transition animations that are shown when navigating from one view to another within the browser extension, but after only 7 posts in the thread, the focus of discussion switched to the autofill animation (seen in this GIF). In 2024 (PR #10005 and PR #11157), Bitwarden did implement a toggle to disable the page transition animations in the browser extension (option “Show animations”, found under Settings > Appearance). For these reasons, I have revised the feature request title to “Option to adjust or disable autofill animation” (old title was: “Option to adjust or disable UI animation”).

Interestingly, after the “Show animations” toggle PR was merged, developer @cagonzalez created PR #11292 (“Modify Autofill Animation”), with the specific intent to redesign the autofill visual feedback to be “less jarring”. However, for unknown reasons, this PR was closed by @cagonzalez on Nov. 1, 2024.

Another relevant insight from the PR discussions on Github is that the “Show animations” toggle was deliberately given a vague name so that the same toggle could be used (in the future) for disabling/enabling autofill animations and any other animations that may be introduced in the UI (see July 8, 2024 comment by @dflinn).

It would be interesting to get status report and outlook from the Bitwarden developers and/or Product Team (@cagonzalez, @dflinn, @gtran?).
