For the version 2026.5. (Release Notes | Bitwarden) I read
- Devices list now available on desktop: The Devices list is now available on the desktop app, alongside the web app and browser extension, to surface devices that your account has been used on.
I use Bitwarden for MacOS (desktop version of course), installed the newest version 2026.5.0 and there is no Device list available. So I checked the Help page for “Manage Devices” and here I read
- In desktop apps, use the menu bar to navigate to Account → Devices.
What I see in Bitwarden on my Mac:
Nothing …
Sorry, but what is happening with Bitwarden? The disaster with the UI update for the Desktop app (visually, and interaction via keyboard), missing functions, misleading, unclear and wrong update info (MacOS App Store vs. website) … This is what we, the users, see. I hope that, behind the scenes, the software quality is far better and that a +100% security and quality check is in place.
Here is a comparison:

I wonder now - is it still about the same app?
@Nail1684 : Thank you for this important detail. I thought this Star means “Highlight” or “new feature”.
So, there are two failures - in the designing and placing this relevant info:
-
In my opinion to use a star for “progressive rollout” is not a good idea. A star is an eyecather, a symbol for highlighting an info, for selling a product. But it is not a symbol for “progressive rollout” (which is the opposite of an eyecather). Better would have been "
" or
.
-
The information "Note - Features marked with a star … " is placed (well hidden) at the top of the page - only one time, at the end of “Overview” and above “GitHub”. But there is a bunch of features marked with this star. The info "Note - Features marked with a star … " has to be placed closer to each update because it is such an important info. Recommendation: It would make more sense to add this info “progressive rollout” at the end of the feature’s title, e.g.:
Desktop UI updates (progressive rollout): The desktop app UI has been updated with visual improvements.
Using text “(progressive rollout)” is clear and easy to understand. A symbol is not clear about the specific meaning, it only shows that something is important (or different).
It is this what I mean with “Bitwarden needs professional support for UI/UX”. The desktop app, these two “smaller” problems with info for “progressive rollout”, and many other details …
The Release Announcements here can be about all BW apps/clients:
- Password Manager: web app / web vault, desktop app, browser extension, mobile apps (iOS / Android)
- Authenticator app: iOS / Android
- Secrets Manager
- (“Admin Console” lists changes for “Organizations”)
The respective apps are specified in many cases in the Release Announcements – example from the 2026.5.0 release:
Password Manager
-
Biometrics integration now available on Flatpak and Snap: Biometric unlock of browser extensions, usable through an integration with the Bitwarden desktop app, is now available on Flatpak and Snap distributions.
→ (Linux) desktop app (which in turn also affects the browser extension biometrics being usable with that desktop app variants now)
Please compare the update text for MacOS/App Store with the website info.
Why is e.g. “Updated Ul for Archive to more clearly communicate it is a Premium feature” not mentioned for 2026.5 on the website?
Why is “Send UI update”, “Devices list now available on desktop” or “Web app quick actions” not mentioned in the 2026.5 text (MacOS/App Store)? Or are these features packed in “Various under-the-hood improvements and minor bug”?
