Lost access to email used for account creation

Recently upgraded devices and tried signing into my Bitwarden account. Upon doing so, I encountered a screen stating my new device wasn’t recognized and to provide the code sent to my email. I then discovered that proton has disabled the email I used for sign up due to inactivity. I’ve reached out to proton and they are unable to restore my email. How can I access my account?

What you are experiencing is called New Device Login Protection (NDLP) and only active if you did not setup another 2FA method.

Your best chance is to reach out to the Bitwarden Support team to temporarily disable NDLP. After regaining access to your account, enable any 2FA method.

Can they re-activate the mailbox for you, at least? Or otherwise allow you to open a new account using the same email address?
