I switched from Keepass to Bitwarden because having to sync passwords across two PCs, two phones, and three tablets was becoming a real hassle.
However, I lost two important features from Keepass:
Password expiration (especially those on RDP with a domain). I had specified the number of days the password could be retained before expiration.
The ability to use references, for example, if I had several accounts that depended on a single account. Here’s an example:
VPN credentials identical and dependent on those of RDP.
I defined a user and password and then in the dependencies I put:
{REF:P@I:18AEA41EB44BEC2C80F2217AADB973C} for the password.
{REF:U@I:18AEA41EB44BEC2C80F2217AADB973C} for the user.
Here at BitWarden I don’t think there are any such options.
Okay, I get it, the posts you’re referring to are 8 years old… if the requested updates haven’t been made yet, I’d say these basic features will never be available.
At this point, I’ll consider sticking with Bitwarden!
I understand that password expiration is no longer part of the modern vision of IT and clashes with NIST guidelines, but the real world is different. It’s made up of IT, where passwords expire every 15 or 30 days, and it’s a real pain in the ■■■.
So, dear Bitwarden developers, you should meet us on this issue and not live in a fairy tale!
Well, the Feature Request for “Archive items…” is 8 years old also. But some weeks ago we could say hello to the “Archive” in Bitwarden. But there are some other basic features on the waiting list, like #Tags.
