One work-around for your use-case would be to edit the vault items for logins belonging to other people, then click the icon to the right of each URI
field (e.g., https://www.amazon.com
), and change the dropdown menu selection from “Default” to “Never”. Then click Save.
I’m not at my computer right now to test but wouldn’t this be the same as if I don’t add the URI to the entry?
The effect on the inline auto-fill menu will be the same. However, if you keep the URI (and set the URI match detection to “Never”), then you can still use the “Launch” button to open the website, and you will be able to find the URI contents when doing a vault search.
Unfortunately, I do not like that behavior becasue I when I look at the extension it will only show a 1 instead of a 2 making me think I don’t have another set of credentials for that URI.
I’ve updated my original post/comment to clarify that.
Hello everyone in this topic. I found a mistake in how this function works on Android. If you click on the field, it will appear auto fill window, however, if you have interaction with another area of the screen and then want to call the auto fill function again, it will no longer appear until you reload the page.
This works fairly well if autofill is set as a popup (not built into the keyboard)
Also I would like to ask you to make the url field a little shorter on the gboard keyboard, so that you can see the name of the account, because it seems to me that when typing on the site is more important this information, and not the site url itself, because you already see it in the address bar
My screen dimensions are 1080x2400 and the smallest width is 423dp
I would also like to ask for an improvement to this feature, since the topic with this feature is already here, I didn’t create a new one to add to it.
The request is that when a vault is locked, the only action possible is to click on the button(1st) to unlock it (2nd) and then select an account(3rd click). Is it possible to make the popup window already show the accounts to be filled and by clicking on one of them (1st) you can also unlock the vault (2nd click). In this way 1 extra click could be avoided.

I understand that this is probably done for security purposes, so that even the account login is not visible until the vault is unlocked, but I would like a toggle switch that controls this behavior, so that already on the site, without going to the bitwarden app you can select the desired account, and by clicking on it already unlock the vault
I see what you are saying now by setting the URI to never. I was originally thinking not to include a URI but have the vault item called Amazon so that it shows up when I search for Amazon.
Obviously if I don’t call the vault entry Amazon and I don’t have a URI (set to never) and try searching for Amazon then the search will return 0 results.
@MFKDGAF Hello again.
It is better to keep the URI but set the URI match detection to “Never”, as previously suggested. Not only will this preserve the functionality of the “Launch” button, and preserve your ability to search by URI, but it will also preserve the ability to auto-fill when needed.
You wrote “9 out of 10 times I will be logging in with my credentials” — so, in the 1/10 instance when you wish to log in with a different set of credentials, you can open the corresponding login item in the browser extension and use the Auto-Fill button at the bottom of the displayed item details.
The biggest drawback to this approach is that the account doesn’t show up in the list of accounts that match (not talking about autofill, talking about when looking at the matched accounts from the extension). If there was a new option that was per entry that allow a user to disable that entry for autofill, that would be ideal because I still want it to show up in the list of accounts when I open the extension from my browser menu bar.
Your request is a little bit paradoxical, because the list of matching accounts that is shown in the “Tab” page is provided specifically for the purpose of auto-filling. It is unclear why you would be interested in reviewing your full list of accounts (including those that you don’t wish to auto-fill) for some website just when you happen to be visiting the login page of that website and about to auto-fill one of the non-disabled accounts.
You can still get a complete list of accounts for any site, simply by doing a vault search. You can do this whether your browser is visiting the website in question or not — you can even do such a search outside the browser.
Furthermore, if you are auto-filling by opening the browser extension and clicking one of the listed accounts, then you can obviously just refrain from clicking on one of the accounts that you wish to be exempt from auto-filling — no need to have Bitwarden disable the auto-fill for those items.
A request that might make slightly more sense is if you were to ask for Bitwarden to exclude certain login items from the credentials that are auto-filled using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L, while still including those login items from the auto-fillable matches in the browser extension’s “Tab” page (and in the inline auto-fill menus or right-click menus, for that matter).
That’s the tricky part is that I can see where people might want or expect different behavior from each of the three: the autofill keyboard shortcut, the autofill in the field, and the Logins list from the extension in the toolbar.
How I was thinking about it for how I use it would be that both the autofill keyboard shortcut and the autofill in the field would be where I would want to toggle what shows up but the list of Logins in the toolbar would always show matching logins.
I also realize that having such options is probably not practical and the majority of people probably wouldn’t change the defaults but I do have some sites where I have 6+ logins due to either shared accounts or having many accounts shared with me in an organization. And there are many accounts that I have that are like “bot” accounts where I basically have them set up and I just about never login to them so I wouldn’t really want those in my autofill and they just add noise.
I realize that I can still do what you said and have them match “Never” but I think I would prefer to see them in the extension in the toolbar.
Is there any way to also autofill the TOTP using an inline button? Right click and paste works but it’s a bit eh.
The team is working on this, should be available soon-ish.

That’s super cool, and I wish I could use it, but it also activates in VSCode Server (Visual Studio Code in the browser) command fields, even with the “only when clicked” option, so I’ve had to disable it.
I’d really love a “disable for this site” option, so I can still use it elsewhere.
Ditto for passkeys as well.
