This is a pretty basic question. Just installing the iPhone app and getting started with bitwarden. So, does the app need to be active, running the whole time? i.e. If I swipe to close inactive apps, and swipe bitwarden away, is the functionality gone? Seems like a dumb question, but I can’t think of another app that is required to be active / backgrounded to work.

No, the app doesn’t have to be active all the time. Just follow these instructions to enable AutoFill:

With AutoFill, you can simply tap “Passwords” above the iOS keyboard to use Bitwarden in other apps.
