iOS: Allow to import to specific folders (CXP/CXF import)

Hey!

I want to run an import from iCloud Keychain in iOS, but it’ll result in a bunch of duplicated or unused entries that I’ll need to go through manually. It’d be really helpful if Bitwarden let me import all of those to a specific folder I choose, so they wouldn’t get mixed with all my other passwords (that aren’t in any folders).

This can be done using the web vault, the desktop app, and/or the browser extension.

Of these, the webvault is probably most accessible from your phone.

Pretty sure the iCloud passwords export feature only lets you export directly to apps? At least I can’t seem to find a way to export your passwords and passkeys from there to a file or website

@Luana I added “(CXP/CXF import)” to the title, to make it more clear that your request is about that. (for reference: Import Data | Bitwarden)

If you can live with just migrating passwords, iOS has export to CSV.

Adding passkeys does up the ante. Your most viable workaround may be to set up a temporary Bitwarden account to use with the “export to app” and then export the temporary vault as JSON file that can subsequently be imported into a folder within your regular vault.

But, take this with a grain of salt as I long ago ceased needing to migrate anything into Bitwarden.
