I want to migrate from avast passwords to Bitwarden.
I can export a json file from avast. But when I import to BW I just get a loooong list of “Generic Note” items under “all”. I have hundreds of passwords stored and really would like to avoid doing this manually. Please advise.

Have you tried exporting to a CSV instead?
I do not think cvs is supported. (Can not find that alternative).
Based on response in Avast’s forum How do I passwords to .csv?, the CSV format was dropped for JSON.
It does sound like Avast has export option for Google/Firefox CSV, which may be another option to try.
Just to make sure, can you confirm that you did the recommended instructions and used the Avast Passwords (json) import format?
If so, there may be a bug or limitation in the AvastJsonImporter.
Another thing to check would be how the JSON file looks.
Based on the implementation, Generic Notes would be created if your JSON has data with a “notes” section:

It should generate logins if your JSON has a “logins” section:

}
You probably need to “condition” - silly word - your .json.
