I think the OP has solved his problem but I want to add that there is bug in the LP export. A second export csv will have duplicates if you don’t start a new LP session.
Note: Merged multiple LastPass duplicates threads into one.
Not sure if this applies, but I found success in generating a lastpass export CSV by logging into my account in an incognito browser. This option allowed me to export via on screen text, rather than downloading an CSV file.
The text did not contain any duplicates.
Perform a 2nd export in the same window. That seems to be the scenario that produces duplicates.
In my case I had some data issues that required me to edit the data in LP then repeat the export. I didn’t try an incognito session, didn’t need to, I just restart browser.
As mentioned higher up in the thread, this worked for me:
- Log out of the LastPass extension in the browser you’re going to export from
- Close the browser
- Re-open the browser and Log back in to LastPass extension
- Export the LastPass vault
- Login to BitWarden
5a. If you have content in your BitWarden vault, clear it by going to Account/Danger Zone/Purge Vault - Import your LastPass vault into BitWarden
Your LastPass vault should now be in BitWarden with no duplicates!</fingers crossed>
To be sure, I would insert after this step: Open the lastpass.csv in a spreadsheet program (e.g., Excel or Libre Calc) and use the built-in deduplication tools to look for (and eliminate, if necessary) any duplicates.
