It may (or may not) be a gray area, but they basically prohibit the use of their trademarks/service marks (which include both the logo and the word mark “Bitwarden”) in a way that could make the artifact appears as if was made by or endorsed by Bitwarden:
Based on the previous discussion, I think it would be safest to change the title of your emergency sheet to something like “Emergency Kit for Bitwarden®”.
@shub I agree with @Nail1684 and will put it more bluntly:
This is dangerous advice, and should be deleted from the document.
If you fill it out electronically, you are exposed to telemetry by your PDF app and your operating system. If you (or the PDF app) save a temporary copy of the document on a hard drive, remnants of the deleted file could be recovered. If you store the document in cloud storage or an external drive, then those locations become an attack surface that expose your vault to risk of compromise.
It is very difficult to create and maintain an electronic Emergency Sheet without exposing yourself to security risks, so you should not suggest this unless you also plan to provide detailed instructions for how to do it securely.
@shub Especially as you want others to use your sheet, you also have to think about the “novice”, who is not assumed to be clear about all kinds of consequences emerging from using those storage methods we discussed the last posts. So I agree with @grb - either delete it (and @grb was right - I probably put it to mildly in my first response ) or insert detailed instructions…
… and not in some README, footer or notes sections, but directly in the document, with a big red warning sign or something like that…:
Thanks guys, I will delete it from the document altogether and only suggest printing the document, filling it out, and storing it securely. Could also recommend storing it in two separate places, like at a sibling’s house in a sealed envelope.
I probably wasn’t too clear but by footer / notes section I meant the big section for notes on the actual document.
You have pre-filled https://vault.bitwarden.com in the first row of the table, as well as in the log in instructions at the bottom. This information will not be applicable to users whose accounts are hosted on bitwarden.eu or on an on-premises server (self-hosted, or hosted by their employer).
Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Do you think it would be better if I just deleted the pre-filled entry and added a note explaining what users should write there on the example PDF or maybe the Github readme?
Since you already have an example of a filled-out form, you should probably just delete the pre-filled entry. In the login instructions at the bottom, you can instruct users to navigate to the URL shown in the “Server” field.
