I have some accounts I want bitwarden to autofill the login, but never the password. Bitwarden on Firefox/Macos keeps poping up a small window asking me for the password after I enter it, and never offers me the option to “never remember this password”… which is what I want.
This feature exists on the builtin password managers in Firefox and Chrome.
Is there some way to configure this for bitwarden?
I think, this is because you see the “update the login item” prompt, as you already have a corresponding login item - and only the “save as new login item” prompt has that “Never” option.
But you can add the domain yourself to the “Excluded domains”, what should stop the “update?”-prompt for you for this site. See here for some details to that: Exclude Domains | Bitwarden
If you don’t want to see that “update the login item?” prompt at all, you can also disable it entirely: Browser extension → Settings → Notifications → Turn off “Ask to update existing login”
Adding the domain the exclusion list under Settings > Notifications > Excluded Domains is your only option, assuming that you do you want Bitwarden to keep prompting you to save password changes on other websites. Please note that you need to enter the full domain, not just the base domain (e.g., to exclude this forum, you would enter community.bitwarden.com, not just bitwarden.com).
