How can I create a PassKey.
Bitwarden created one for Google, how/when I don’t know.

It doesn’t work like that. There is no “Passkey” item type in Bitwarden – passkeys are stored in normal login item types.
It roughly works like that:

Make sure you use the BW browser extension, and you have “Ask to save and use passkeys” checked in Settings → Notifications (in the extension).

In the same browser: go to the site/service where you want to create a passkey for and initiate the passkey creation process (usually in that site’s account settings – and only possible if that site offers passkey login at all).
- For that to work, that site (URL) mustn’t be on your “Excluded domains” list. (Settings → Notifications → Excluded domains)

The browser extension then should intercept that “passkey creation request” from the site and offer to save the passkey in a given or new login item.
If that is not enough details for you, please clarify what is still unclear.
It seems that the browser accepts the request but fails to create.
Displays “something went wrong”.
Don’t know why.
Don’t know what Passwordless.dev is and don’t think I need it, since it works Oké with google. BTW I do have an account with Bitwarden.
The browser – or the BW browser extension?
Is that message issued by the service/site, the browser, or the BW browser extension?
One reason could be: the site restricts passkey creation to hardware security keys. (just a speculation – and common reason – without knowing the site you are talking about)
Passwordless.dev is not required here for us “end users”.
To test passkey creation further, you could try to create a login passkey for your user account here on the forum. That is expected to work – and when that doesn’t end with an error message, it at least shows your process is correct. (and the error message you got might indeed have to do with that site/service itself)

First, it’s the general steps as outlined here.
When you have everything prepared, then in the same browser and with an unlocked BW extension, when you’re logged in here on the forum… then go to your avatar → Profile → Preferences:
There, go to the “Security” tab and “Add passkey”. If you follow that, the browser extension should get the request at some point, and you should be abled to store the passkey in one of your login items (preferebly / probably the existing login item for the forum).
Had to get used to this forum layout but I succeeded.
Now I have two entry’s very nice.
