Also, now that you can do an export, you may wish to consider migrating your vault data to a new account, so that you can set up a new master password. If you export in JSON format, this will preserve all of your vault data except for file attachments, items in the Trash folder, Sends, or any settings for the “Autofill on page load?” option that you may have customized for individual login items.
He said he only has access via a passkey. Passkeys cannot yet authorize an export, it’s still master password only.
Sorry to say this, but you’re going to have to manually copy down all of your passwords to a text document, and then manually set up a fresh bitwarden account, adding your accounts back in one by one.
Copy the website url, the username, and the password, each to its own line of text. Once you have all your credentials copied down, you will have to go to https://vault.bitwarden.com/#/recover-delete to have your account deleted. You can then recreate your account (you can use the same email address, no need to create a new one), set a new master password, and then manually add all your accounts back in one by one.
In my response, I was simply suggesting that they should now use their ability to export as a way to migrate their vault into a new account for which the master password would no longer be unknown.
I also recommended that they support your feature request for allowing exports to be authorized using only a passkey.
Thank you so much, really. I was desperate because I was connected everywhere, and I was able to recover everything. You’re my savior, I love you man (still working in January 2026). Just the line is around 620 plus 250
