In the past, bitwarden windows desktop app has always started up (after logging in) displaying my list of folders by default. With the early-2026 updates, it no longer displays my list of folders but instead displays a navigation pane (looks a lot like the navigation pane in apps like Microsoft Outlook), where the folders item does appear but is not expanded to show all the folders. Now I must manually expand the folders item every time I log in to show my full list. The old behavior (automatically open/expand folder) was much better! Also, when folders list expanded and that left-most column (in the app) widened enough to read the folder names, the middle column (names of all my items) is much too narrow, and there is no way to independently adjust the width of the middle column. Requests: 1) Restore previous view (folders expanded) automatically after login in the desktop app (ie: previous behavior). 2) Make middle column width independently adjustable.
It’s also inconvenient that now I have to go to the “Folders” branch and expand the entire subfolder structure every time. It was more convenient the way it was before. Or add a default start folder selection to the settings and remember the expanded status of all branches of the tree on the left.
@LRC Welcome to the forum!
And thanks for your suggestions.
Feature Requests have to be about (more or less) one specific thing only here on the forum – otherwise it’s not possible to interpret votes.
(and simple example: if a request would be about a feature A and a feature B, how should someone vote who would be in favour of feature A, but doesn’t want feature B under any circumstances?)
So, please feel free to open new separate feature requests about one specific thing only. (and please search for a possible existing feature request, that matches your request, first)
PS:
There is an existing feature request for this:
@SergeiOsipov Also a welcome to the forum!
