Can’t wait for the fix!
I’m using the browser extension in chrome on macos
Version: 2025.4.0
SDK: ‘main (50f5a17)’
Server version: 2025.4.3
this aberrant behavior started for me after update a few days ago and is very frustrating! thank you for getting on it so fast!

It’s definitely not fast.. I’m waiting a month already.

There is evidently a release planned for May 29.

Whenever you clicked on the bitwarden vault (extension) your mouse cursor / field for search would automatically be active however it’s not anymore.
Is this intended? Do you guys want it back? Because I really feel it was a good thing to have.

@Silverjohn I moved your post into the corresponding thread… as you can see, a fix is already planned.

PS: If I see it correctly on GitHub, the fix should be included in extension version 2025.5.0, which already was released to the browser stores.

PPS: Mozilla just (May 23) “released” extension version 2025.5.0, but I think MacOS/Safari is still on 2024.4.2. As soon as the update arrives there as well, I will remove “current bug” from the title of this thread.

So far…

Chrome (v2025.4.0)
Edge (v2025.5.0)
Firefox (v2025.4.0)
Opera (v2025.5.0)

The browser extensions release v2025.5.0 was released yesterday (Release Browser v2025.5.0 · bitwarden/clients · GitHub) so I guess we have to wait until the listings propagate on the different extension stores. Looking at the code for that tag, I can confirm the pull request they talked about that supposedly fixes this is included in this release. I wonder how long this approval process usually takes…

edge typically updates in “hours”
chrome typically updates in “days”.
firefox typically updates in “weeks”.

Of course, YMMV.

Thanks for that overview! I didn’t know, that Opera also has it’s own store.

Firefox - “weeks”?!! Sheesh!

Yeah, and some good news / bad news: recently, it was surprisingly only a few days… but also recently, it was well over a month… :man_shrugging: (though, both outliers – “a few weeks” is the usual timeframe…)

I just now received 2025.5.0 in Firefox.

Did I hallucinate this morning, or is the problem fixed (Win11)?

I would have commented on the following thread:

…however as an infrequent visitor I’m not permitted to post twice within the same thread.

You are right - the problem is fixed with extension version 2025.5.0.

However, Mozilla didn’t “release” this version yet, so Firefox users are still on 2025.4.0 at the moment. I planned to change the title of the other thread, when every user can get the update to 2025.5.0.

Presuming Bitwarden sticks to the defaults, the Manufacturer requirements are:

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

Spend two more minutes “reading posts”, and this restriction should be lifted.

This seems fair, it is a shame that Bit Warden is so intuitive and well designed, else I would have reached the required usage parameters within days. :upside_down_face:

It’s great isn’t it - especially when you consider that when logging on, it defaults the typing to the password field.

Hope they make progress with Firefox soon, not that I use it, I just sympathise with others.

Turns out, Firefox released version 2025.5.0 in the meantime!
