Since that thread was closed prematurely without understanding the issue, the simple answer why someone may want to use the extension on mobile regardless is for instance to cut down on bloat in the app drawer. Additionally, there should be a small adventure in size even if it’s usually not a problem on modern Android devices.
Passkeys don’t work reliably on Android without using bitwarden as a Firefox extension on my phone.the extension works fine there, but my tablet has the same issue as described in the link.
I think I understand your points, but the extension isn’t officially supported on Android. You can make a feature request to support Firefox extensions on Android, but that might be frustrating because some feature requests take years to be implemented — and some never are. Filing the issue as a bug would most likely just get closed.
I can’t help with using passkeys in Bitwarden, but if I were you, I’d try posting a problem description to see if someone here can help you figure out the difficulty of using passkeys reliably on your phone, or at least get it to the point where the problem can be filed as a bug.
