Hello
Many apps (including Bitwarden) offer SSO; some (including Bitwarden) require that admins manually specify an organization when configuring SSO but others ask that users provide the SSO organization along with their username and password when logging in. It would provide a smoother user experience, particularly with the autologin feature, if there was an SSO organization field along with the username, password and authenticator key fields.
Thanks!
Just curious would the use of custom fields be good for your use case? Should allow for filling of additional forum fields such as an SSO org identifier for sites.
You can avoid the SSO identifier field in Bitwarden with the verified domains functionality as an FYI.
A custom field would be able to store the SSO organization but my understanding is that the autofill feature won’t recognize that custom field as an SSO identifier. I will give that a try though and see what the behavior is.
That totally worked! Just having a custom field with the data wasn’t enough, but when I changed the name of the custom field to match the text above that field in the web page I was testing this on, the browser plugin immediately filled in the SSO organization field along with the username and password. Sorry about the extraneous feature request, looks like the custom field is a viable solution here. @cksapp Thanks again for your help!
@martin.tig I believe the OP may be referring to other similar fields, such as other sites that may need a similar SSO identifier or company name.
Though the domain verification is a good suggestion for Bitwarden SSO login.
@jared_rbt glad to hear that the custom fields work properly as needed, as well as autofill for those additional fields.
I’ll close this thread for now as resolved.
