Yes, I guess @PatWhite is writing about how to scroll down/up in the list of vault items.
Normally the “Arrow up” key would jump to the item above the selected one and the “Arrow down” to the next one (below the selected one). But the whole list of items scrolls up or down without changing the selected item. I would prefer to use the “Arrow up/down” for selection the item above or below the selected one.
@PatWhite @clausimausi I moved our posts into this existing feature request to the same topic.
Oh, I miss understood, @PatWhite writes about Drag&Drop.
I was thinking about using the Arrow keys for scrolling up/down in the list of vault items.
Sorry.
I have changed the topic title (from “Drag and Drop vault items/entries” to “Drag and Drop vault items/entries/folders/collections”) to reflect the fact that the feature request scope has expanded through the course of discussion (and as a result of previous thread mergers).
I wish there was an easy way to drag and drop folder tree from my vault to organization vault bi-directionally.
@ctmd2009 Welcome to the forum!
I moved your post into an existing feature request to the same topic.

$( function() {
$( "#draggable" ).draggable(); })
This DOC was probably written a long, long time ago. In these days when mobile phones didn’t have modern capabilities.
Here, Drag’n’drop only works on desktop under mouse. jQuery has libraries that connect touch. Add 2 (1?) strings.
JQ could at least provide a link to them. But as always, no one cares.
or: copy to Google – “draggable code” and get 15-20 strings of code weighing 1kb
Since you are interested in this feature and apparently have the necessary coding expertise, you might consider proposing a PR to implement this.
The topic is dedicated to dragging logins into folders in a Web wallet. I like Drag’n’drop wherever. But in the current implementation of the browser BW-extension, there is “nowhere to drag logins”.
And I read this in a post by one of the developers.
It really has nowhere to drag.
We follow the logic – there is nowhere to drag, so there is nothing to discuss here. And that’s true, but only by 50%.
The second half , but it is more difficult and dangerous for the developers themselves. And it sounds like this: “Nowhere to drag? So let’s do it !”
To implement the second positive half, you need to rewrite half of the browser extension interface. You need to put the Folders in a separate column, visible all the time. And that’s when the opportunity for Drag’n’drop opens up.
In my example, there is only a part of the code that is sufficient for my simple task. To apply to BW, folders must be made with Drag’n’drop-traps. But the code for this has also been written for a long time, there is no need to invent anything.
Ready-made implementation is found in many places . Any modern web-mailer has it.
If I use my knowledge to get into the BW code, I will get nothing but a ban. If the developers themselves have no interest in ready-made solutions for 7 years, then my distribution will not help.
I’m tired of putting on Filmora to put arrows on the video. And choose musical support. Let’s turn to professionals for music. Let’s focus not on the arrows, but on those who have already achieved the desired result in their community.
This is what BW’s ability to manage logins to folders might look like.
Bitwarden is open-source software, and community contributions are welcome:
Thanx for the trust.
I didn’t find any familiar letters in the “Software” section other than VS CODE
TS is typescript, which is basically JavaScript.
+1 for drag and drop in the desktop app. I am on the paid version and was so disappointed when I saw this is not working
Could you elaborate a bit more, why the browser extension has “nowhere to drag (items)”? I may be a bit naive (and lacking the technical knowledge), but there are other instances, where you can drag & drop things to an element, that only then “expands”.
Like folders in Windows – when you drag a file to a folder, the folder expands. At least in theory, the filters of the current browser extension (Folder, Type, Vault, Collection) could serve the same purpose as a destination for dragging vault items (if they would expand in that process), I would think…

The browser extension does not have any folders on the left.
But the filters are there - between the search bar and the vault items:
As written in my previous post: if you could drag items to one of the four filters – and the respective filter would expand automatically (including auto-scroll by going up or down) – the design/UI would allow a drag & drop functionality, IMHO.
(but as also written before, I have no idea, if it would be technically possible - or how much code rewriting would be necessary to even meet the preconditions for making this possible)
Filters determine the type of record. The type of record is not separable from it. Replacing the record type is not possible. And it hardly makes sense.
Make from Note => Login? Or from the SSH Key => Card?
It’s unlikely that anyone will need this.

Make Drag’n’Drop on the drop-down list? Which covers the upper logins? This is not a standard solution. Drop-down lists are created not for this .
The Explorer is made in C, for OS. And the visible part of BW is made for Web on JS. Everything has been invented on JS for a long time. -
I haven’t migrated from other password management software. I don’t know how it looks like (via .CSV or .JSON) or what the result is. However, I see that Change “type” of items is a highly requested feature. Migrating from other software is always a top priority for any developer. I don’t understand this ignor.
Okay, “Type” and “Organization” are both indeed problematic.
It’s not possible to change types (Feature Request: Change "type" of items).
It’s not possible to move items between different organizations, so there would have to be restriction and/or error message to that. (and even if it were possible, the item had to be in a collection as well, so there would have to be a selection mechanism for that too)
But dragging an item into a different folder or collection should be not too complicated. (though in both cases, there are also edge cases - like I think it is thought of making it possible for an item to be in more than one folder… and if you drag an item into a collection, and you have more than one organization, there may be also questions left… or maybe it should be only possible, to drag into the currently chosen / “set” filters, then it would be thinkable to drag an item into a collection directly).
I’ve never needed to replace record types, I don’t import Cards. And even the logins are nowhere. But I see that the popularity of the topic, this is much more important than DnD. I don’t see any difficulties in repeating at least the most useful direction: between cards and logins.
The reaction speed of the developers is amazing : 2018 , 7 years. What is in this topic, what is in the topic of type replacement.
I see no point in developing the discussion further here.
