Also, 2025.3.2 remains the current Browser version. Typically one can expect bitwarden updates on a monthly cadence.
Fair enough.
But I do find it fascinating how these two pretty standard processes (cursor focus and clearing the previous search term) actually made it into prod - undetected.
How any testing could not have noticed these two basics - is hard to explain.

I’m on Version: 2025.3.2 | SDK: ‘main (50f5a17)’ | Server version: 2025.4.1 of the Bitwarden browser extension in the Brave browser. Same issue with cursor focus not defaulting to Search.
Hi all! The Bitwarden team is aware of this issue and is working on a fix now.
Edit:
This Pull Request seems to fix it (already “merged” now):
Translation: “already merged now” means that we likely will see it the next time version releases happen.
…or 3-4 weeks later if you have Firefox.
So on Chrome (Version 135.0.7049.115 (Official Build) (arm64)) with the Bitwarden Extension (v 2025.3.2) I have an issue that whenever I open the popup window the focus is not in the text field. If I press tab I have to do that 4 times until I end up in the text field or I need to click inside.
It is very inconvenient and it worked fine before. Can you please fix this?

@devsgroup Welcome to the forum!
I moved your post into the existing thread to this current bug…
My main workflow involves opening the vault in Firefox and then typically searching for something (if it’s not already auto detected)
It would be nice if when you opened the browser extension by clicking on the logo it placed the cursor in the Search field by default to eliminate an extra click.
Whoops. I just accidentally made a post about this instead of searching like a noob.
How’s going with this fix? When it will be pushed?
I think we don’t know more than this.
@tangles I moved your other post into this thread as well.
Hello there,
I’ve checked all links to the right, that might be similar to my very minor issue, but I can’t see it. I’ve also performed a quick search and again nothing comes up.
I’m sure in the past, I have been able to click the bit warden extension icon and it takes me directly to the search box, without having to click on anything else. Now it seems I have to click it, then click in the search box to start a search.
Like I said, a very minor issue, the cursor is very nearby the extension button anyway, but I just wondered if my install is working as normal.
Thanks in advance, Chris

@ChrisA I moved your post into this existing thread to the same topic… check out the other posts to get the current status.
Thank you Nail
I’m on Windows 11, current version of Brave, and same thing, no auto focus to the search box
Version 1.78.94 Chromium: 136.0.7103.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)
This issue will be resolved with the release next week, thanks for your patience everyone!
Given that the current browser extension is 2025.4.0, I presume this fix will be included in version 2025.4.1 or maybe 2025.5.0.
