A small proposal that I would like to make is that there is the possibility of creating a new folder when an entry is being made to the vault. There could be a “New Folder” button to create it now instead of having to access the settings later to do so.

Could you add a new feature in browser extension, when I add a new login I can choose one of my folders but if I want create a new I don’t see that option and I do that only via web vault…
wow 5 years and still no progress on this.
same is true of all the other missing features and annoyances I found with bitwarden since I started using it.
This is feeling rather like WHMCS.

I have to put things I want in ‘No Folder’ so I can create the folder later and put them in it, except I always forget so now I have a shit ton of passwords in No Folder that need sorting. Basic UX design here people.

This is probably my biggest frustration with Bitwarden. Adding a new item should be as frictionless as possible, including putting it into a new folder. I end up with a lot of uncategorized entries because I forget to go into the settings to add new folders, after which of course you have to find the uncategorized entries (sometimes in “No Folder”, sometimes in a parent folder) and move them to the new folder.
This issue is compounded with an organization where multiple people are adding items. Things can get very messy very quickly when you can’t put something in a new folder all in one action.

This feature is a must. I have been missing this feature a lot since I moved from LastPass to Bitwarden.

I’ve modified the topic title to better reflect the scope of the feature request (old title was: “Create new folder while creating a new item”; new title: “Create new folder while editing or creating a vault item”).
When re-arranging my items, I often find myself wanting to create a new folder on the go, while editing the item. I think it would be nice to either:
- Have a “Add new folder” entry in the dropdown to select a folder
- Have a “Manage folders” options right next to the dropdown to create/delete folders
compared to the (in my opinion) hidden options to manage folders in Settings → Vault Options → Folders (which I always forget how to get to)
How to loose a potential customer 
I was currently migrating to Bitwarden - an exercise of importing (from LP + Google) and ‘update on login’ method, but the folder workflow is a major roadblock/drawback.
Why is there still no option to ‘Create New Folder’ directly from the “Add Item” screen in the extension? Having to exit an item, navigate to Vault > + > Folder, and then go back to the original item is a significant UX friction point.
For a tool I’m trying to trust with my entire digital life this basic PITA makes the app feel so lame, but what’s more annoying is that this has been an issue for years that people have highlighted.
Is there a security reason for this not being an option when adding an item? It’s the perfect ‘Premium Unlock’ tripwire just a shame - as it’s not even a feature in there.
I might not be a power user so understand if the focus has to go elsewhere but come on, this cant be a hard fix.
