Chrome Extension vs Edge Extension

I have been using the new Edge for last several months. I do have the bitwarden extension in Edge via Microsoft store…But today I realized the bitwarden extension in Edge was upgraded to v1.44.3…but the release date was 1st June…So,

  1. Is there a reason the release of newer version of the bitwarden extension was delayed in Microsoft store? I think the chrome/firefox extension (I also do use FF with the extension) was released on 1st June on time.
  2. From performance and security perspective, should I keep using the extension from Microsoft store OR switch to the one from chrome store for the new Edge?
