biometric unlock sometimes works, and sometimes not in Google extension (MacOS)

Could you please share more about your set up, if it worked before without issues (or if you had this issue right from the start), did you observe anything that might be different when it works compared to when it doesn’t work, etc.?
I use Bitwarden for many years.
I always download the last release (MasOS, Chrome, Bitwarden & Bitwarden extension for Chrome)

Okay, so I would assume it worked before…
What exact version is your desktop app?
When it doesn’t work: do you get an error message? Or what exactly does happen (and/or what does not happen that should happen)?
Do you always start the desktop app first (even before you open Chrome browser)?
When it doesn’t work, I can’t choose unlock with biometric.

Sorry, but if you want us to help with that, you have to explain things more detailed than that. It remains unclear what “I can’t choose” exactly means.
If sometimes Chrome loads before the Bitwarden desktop app was fully initialized, then biometrics is expected to not work. So that might be a possible explanation for why it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn’t.
You could test it by removing Chrome from the automatic start, and only manually start it when the desktop app was already started.
