I had a corrupt chrome profile and uninstalled and reinstalled chrome. Now I cant login to Google because it has 2fa and doesn’t offer the other 2fa options, only passkey and password. I need to login to chrome to install bitwarden extension.
Circular dependency where Chrome requires the Bitwarden app to use your passkey, but you can’t install the app without logging into Chrome.
I can still access bitwarden on Firefox and on my mobile.
I cant seem to find a way in chrome to disable the need for a passkey. (perhaps disable 2FA and then later re-enable).
I used another google account that used the same passkey. That one gave me the other 2fa Options and I was able to install bitwarden and then log into the google account I was having a problem with.
This is a google issue I think and not a Bitwarden one. Posted here in the hope that this will help someone with the same issue.
