Can I delete authenticator app on phone?

Im finding t his inface confusing, And I could not delete the previous message I posted because well I could not see how to enter the information. Maybe this will work. Sorry.

Anyway. I needed to get Two facter authentication for a government web site.
I found it really hard to do. But eventually figured it out.

However I downloaded the authentictor app. on to phone which I tried doing on web but for some reason could not do. I dont like using my phone.

But eventually did it. But now I see that if i have the app that I pay for its built in. I by chance figured out that I can add the authenication number into a profile on the main app. I did this.

Does this mean I can delete the authenticator app. Becasue its built into the other main app.

Listen I dont understand the authentication thing. Did it because I had to get info from the government. So can I delete the app and it will remain in the main app.

Assuming this was the only TOTP authenticator key you stored in the BW authenticator app… and assuming you now stored the whole TOTP authenticator key that was/is in your BW authenticator app in the integrated authenticator in BW password manager (i.e. your BW vault)…

… then you should be good with deleting the BW authenticator app.

But in general, you should make a backup/export of your BW vault anyway – regularly or at least every other month – to prevent possible data loss.

Speaking of that, just also a general reminder: if you don’t have one already, also create an emergency sheet for your Bitwarden account.
