Issue:
When I connect to the campus Wi-Fi, Safari displays a small login popup. However, the Bitwarden login column disappears entirely, and no other extensions are visible within the popup either.
Impact:
This issue prevents me from accessing my saved passwords and easily logging in, which is quite frustrating as a loyal Bitwarden premium user.
The small login from Safari is for the WiFi - or for one of the Bitwarden apps?
BTW, when you write “no other extensions are visible”, you mean you are using the Bitwarden browser extension, right? Or do you speak of the Bitwarden desktop app in connection with your issue, like your topic tag suggests?
So you can’t login to your Bitwarden vault at all in these situations? Or is it the “small login popup” (the BW extension???) that makes it hard to login? – And if the BW extension would somehow morph into a small login popup – that does only happen when you try to connect to that WiFi??
A screenshot of your issue might be helpful.
… and that’s not easy, like you described before? (I guess the WiFi is password-protected, and that’s the password you have to copy/paste?)
Please describe your issue a bit better, as I find it hard to know, what is what here, and what exactly the issue is.
PS:
I would be cautious if it was a public WiFi… and probably don’t do sensitive things, like using my password manager.
this is the popup showed when connecting the campus wifi, which required the password and username of students to log in so that they could meter the traffic.
when the popup showed, the safari as an app was running (there was no small dot below the safari icon on dock)
my default browser is safari, and I installed both Bitwarden for safari and for Mac.
I guess you have your WiFi credentials stored in Bitwarden and have the extension unlocked at that moment?
When you click in the username field and press Cmd + Shift + L, does that fill in the credentials?
If not, then check whether the corresponding login item in Bitwarden has http://192.168.2.100 as an URI configured (if not, add that as an URI) and try it again.
