I have searched but found nothing related to my request. Is there to be a Browser extension for Duck Duck Go for Windows App at some point?
Hi @BarryW Welcome to the Bitwarden community! Thanks for asking. This would be a better question for DuckDuckGo.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for your quick reply and welcome. As is the problem with it concerns two software companies, which one do you approach? I will certainly contact DuckDuckGo to see their response. Thanks, much appreciated.
Just visited the DuckDuckGo community forum. I don’t think anything to do with browser extensions will happen anytime soon. Now looking for another browser.
here are the favorite browsers from the Bitwarden community data privacy day survey in January Data Privacy Week | Bitwarden Blog
Thanks Gary, looks like I am moving to Firefox.
Regards, Barry
I used Firefox for over twenty years and still like it, but just for your consideration (but depending on what you want): 1.The browser extensions updates are very quick in the Chrome web store - in Firefox it usually takes a few days up to maybe around two weeks (more often the latter). 2. Firefox hasn’t implemented PRF yet, so if you are interested in using the “login with passkey” function, this will take some time until they implement PRF (explanation: this function is beta in Bitwarden and works only with the web vault at the moment - and even that does not work with Firefox because the PRF is missing in Firefox). 3. The general passkeys functions are not fully supported in Firefox yet. But I don’t know if this has any implication for the use of passkeys in/with Bitwarden via Firefox, because I didn’t test it (because I personally switched a few months ago from Firefox to Brave).
If you don’t need or want always the “newest” functions and the fastest updates, then Firefox is perfectly fine.
Thanks, very useful information but I am happy to wait for Passkey functionality. I have just installed Firefox and all things appear to be working well, including Bitwarden

Hello Gary,
Bitwarden save passwords online as duckduckgo. Since duckduckgo does not allow extensions, it could be great when both developers prepare a bridge that could be activated and permit sync between the 2 systems. As I understand, it is already in place on mac but not other platform. Any chance to see this in future ?

Hi @superknower, Welcome to the Bitwarden community! Bitwarden does provide the ability to operate within DuckDuckGo. You can get a link from the Bitwarden download page. Download the Bitwarden Password Manager App for iPhone, Android, Chrome, Safari, and More | Bitwarden There is always an ability to import and export between standard systems. Syncing between different vendor systems may be tricky given encryption requirements.
Hello @go12,
Thank you for the fast feedback and the link. Unfortunately, I do not see any possibilty to download “bitwarden for duckduckgo on windows” with the provided link. Am I mistaken? Do you know if there is another link/if some developments are on the way ?

I think, now we are going circles, because…:
… since:
(in the last quote: formatting my editing)
There is a download page for DDG for Windows here:
My understanding is that in the DDG browser, Bitwarden is an integrated password manager (i.e., not a third-party extension).
For some reason, the direct link from Bitwarden’s downloads page only goes to the Mac version of DDG. I’m not sure if that means that the Bitwarden integration is unavailable for the Windows version.
It not only goes to the Mac version, but it also only speaks of the Mac-variant:
There’s a Bitwarden help page, also speaking only of the Mac integration:
So far, I don’t see any hint to a Windows variant.
Maybe @go12 had misinterpreted @superknower’s question when responding in the affirmative.
Please develop a BW browser extension for DuckDuckGo in the Windows 11 OS. I am able to import my BW data into the browser but that doesn’t keep my information up to date in BW. The development would certainly make BW even more user friendly. Thank you for considering this request.
@mtanner Welcome to the forum!
I moved your post into this existing feature request to the same topic.
