Bitwarden Roadmap

Thanks a lot, I read through all the items but that one wasn’t immediately clear to me but it’s exactly what a ton of people are after. Gaining multi-platform sync and web access is going to be a game changer!

I have already started moving from Authy. Home this change doesn’t take long

I’ve just been looking for how how to get permissions to inherit down a series of collections (nested collections). I just imported a load of data from KeePass and it’s all been set to access by myself only, but I need a group of users to have access.

I can’t quite believe that I can’t just set a flag or tick a box at the top level to say “all sub-collectons inherit these permissions”…? Please somebody tell me I’m wrong?

@robinpgi Welcome to the forum!

No, inheritance for nested collections is possible, although you can obtain a script from Support to help with propagating permissions to nested collections. There is a feature request thread here.

Would the Bitwarden team ever consider making a non-custodial private wallet (hot or cold) for holding crypto currency?

They’re very similar to a password manager and there is a large market. With Bitwarden’s experience in cryptography, I feel like they would make a phenomenal product!

I like Aegis too much but syncing MFA might get me to switch.
Since it is end of year I assume there’s some delays and early 2025.

+1 interested in the answer to this question.

How will this be achieved for Windows? Will the plug-in model for third-party passkey providers in Windows also enable native autofill of passwords?

What about the https://community.bitwarden.com/t/vault-item-sharing/238
It was on a previous roadmap: https://community.bitwarden.com/t/how-to-share-an-individual-login-record-with-another-person/67555/2
But now it isn’t.

Is this feature completely off from the roadmap?

Welcome, @zingmane to the community!

The prior roadmap inlcuded both development and research initiatives. The current one includes only active, in-development initiatives.

Vault item sharing was in the “researching” column – so no assurances that it would proceed to development. No idea if it is further down the queue or if was dropped.

@gtran, spending time maintaining this, when you could in-stead have issues at GitHub be labelled as FRs (alongside existent BRs), and have all of those issues assigned that label be automatically added to a milestone, seems strange. Issue trackers provide this functionality for a reason.

Thanks for the roadmap feedback @rokejulianlockhart. Rest assured it takes minimal effort to maintain the text list above, and that we’ll share your feedback with the team.

I do see value in having a curated, sorted, easy-to-read list for the less-technical users amongst us. GitHub is not very approachable to those who do not do application development.

I am pretty happy with the roadmap, although I don’t get why there are three word-wrapped columns, rather than just a 2-level bulleted list.

@DenBesten, I can’t imagine you’d need to be very technical to do what Viewing your milestone's progress - GitHub Docs describes: [1]

I think you underestimate yourself.

Yeah. It’s not very semantic to use a table for a kanban-style board. Additionally, the title is bolded
text, not an
, which would look the same (they’re both font-weight: bold; font-size: 1em), but would be a linkable, semantic heading:

4 posts were split to a new topic: Passkey Autofill on the same window

Hi! Today is 11 Feb already and as we see that roadmap was for January, any updates? I’m more interested in

 • Desktop (MacOS and Windows) native autofill of passwords and passkeys
 • Autofill passkey notification popup redesign

Is it possible to disable the popups from the new UI and confirming access to email for 2FA? I regularly log in on work computers, which aren’t recognized as known devices, and it’s annoying to have to click through the pop ups each time, even after enabling 2FA before it’s required.

Hey @shirahdevorah that doesn’t sound like expected behavior if you have 2FA enabled, please contact support at: Help Center | Bitwarden so that we can look into this for you.
