I use newest versions of Bitwarden (2025.11.1 / 51183) and MacOS (26.1 / 25B78). The problem occurred just yesterday. The only change was that now I use the MacBook Pro without two external monitors (like at home). Now I travel and use just the “internal” display. On GitHub someone says “I’ve noticed that this happens more frequently with dual displays.”
@clausimausi Did you already try to deinstall and reinstall the desktop app? If you do, make sure the local storage of the desktop app was deleted before the reinstall.
I wait until I am back home in a few days - to test with external displays. Unlikely that the bug is related to this change. But who knows …
I must say, I am surprised that Bitwarden does not really test their apps. Not the first time that an official version is so buggy. Just some days ago the problem (browser plugin) with version 2025.11, now the app with 2025.11.1 … Ok, the focus lies on security, I like it, and not so much on new features or request by users. But please, do not forget to test before releasing a final version. Yes, this is not the right place for such critics, but maybe someone of the Bitwarden team reads also here in the (official) forum.
Ok, I found this folder (I use the App Store version). But your recommendation was not clear enough. You mention the “Local Storage” folder but the linked support page is about the Data Storage on On your local machine.
Should I delete the “Local Storage” folder (includes e.g. CURRENT, LOG, MANIFEST…) only or the whole folder “Bitwarden”?
I mentioned the local storage of the desktop app… For MacOS, it should be those Bitwarden folder(s) – first one for the standalone installation, second one for the Mac App Store version:
It is still not clear enough because in the folder for the Mac App Store (the version I use) is a folder called “Local Storage”.
But the Link on the Support page leads to the folder which contains, beside many other files and folder, also a folder called “Local Storage”.
Do you recommend to delete the “Local Storage” folder only, or the whole Bitwarden folder (link from the Support page)? It is not clear what you mean by “Local Storage” - just the folder “Local Storage” or the whole Bitwarden folder (which, for me, can be everything and not lust “locally stored files” or a “Local Storage”).
Sorry, I am indeed not very familiar with Macs folder structures. – But I read the instructions clearly as “delete that Bitwarden folder – with everything that’s in it – and you can find it in this path…”.
The link refers to the general local storage(es) that every Bitwarden app creates when you use it on a device.
And that document (Help Site) shows, that the local storage of the desktop app is in that Bitwarden folder.
Sorry to have confused you – I hope that helps? (honestly I don’t know how else to explain it now)
I have the same issue on macos 26.1 I can recover by deleting the mentioned folders to get it back working, but I have to do it on every restart/boot. I also tried deinstalling, clearing those folders and installing it again, but on the next boot/restart I get the same blank windows
@Nail1684 : Yes, it was me (wk7yhscxyk-coder), adding this info to the GitHun issue.
The update text for 2025.11.2 says something about a crash when window resizing, but nothing about this display/blank window (but seems to be fixed also),
