Bitwarden not in context menu

I am migrating to Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.3914) with Chrome 133.0.6943.142 and BitWarden 2025.2.1 and Bitwarden is not shown in the context menu, which I make frequent use of! I have rebooted, updated Chrome to the above version, removed and reinstalled the Chrome extension, all to no avail.

Any suggestions would be welcomed!

@AndtheP Welcome to the forum!

I think it should be activated by default  but make sure this is “checked”: Settings → Autofill → Show context menu options (section “Additional options”)

And I’m not sure if the Bitwarden extension must be also set to the default password manager.

No, this is not required for the context menu to work.

Thanks for the quick response, but I’ve looked for such settings with no luck. I have since gone back to my Win 10 machine and found that I have the same problem - the context menu is only shown in Vivaldi - but not in Chrome, Brave or Firefox - and as a last resort, I tried Edge, which also didn’t show it. I removed it again from Chrome and re-added it, to make sure I was using bitwarden.com, and it’s just the same.

I’m out now until late evening, by which time I may have self-combusted if I think of this issue too much!

So, you’re saying, you’re missing this option in your browser extension:

No, I don’t, but I think I must be looking in the wrong place - I haven’t had to investigate extensions before. The attachments show what I see when I look at the extension page. Ah - I can’t load multiple files, so I’ll try a couple more replies with one image each.

Oh. When we speak of “Settings” (in the context of the browser extension), try it here:

Oh indeed! Thanks for your patience, but I think I must be in a parallel universe.

This is what I see when I look at my vault in a browser - the list goes on and there is no footer with those buttons. Vivaldi context menu continues to be correct , but the browser view is the same as this.

Your screenshot shows the Bitwarden web vault / web app.

The context menu, and the “Settings” I was talking about, are in the Bitwarden browser extension (PS: or rather: the context menu is “provided”/produced by the browser extension). You can open the browser extension by clicking the Bitwarden “pin” in the top row of the browser, like this:

(BTW, your three previous screenshots show the browser extension… now you only have to open the browser extension  )

@AndtheP If you can’t see the pinned shield icon mentioned by @Nail1684, you must first click the :jigsaw: icon at the top right of your browser, and then click the :pushpin: icon for the Bitwarden Password Manager extension:

Sorry, this was delayed by some hours due to new-user constraints. Sigh.

Bingo! It’s working again now and I’ve learned something, so many thanks.

Cheers,

Sam
