BitWarden Firefox add-on: cannot login after Firefox update on Linux ubuntu

Hello,

I am enjoying BitWarden on different browsers and on mobile for a good feww tears now, with a Premium membership.

I have an issue with BitWarden Firefox add-on: for the second time, after Firefox update, I’ve got password error “I is not defined”, where the password is double checked, and work on mobile at the same time.

To fix it, I need to

  • remove extension from Firefox
  • quit Firefox,
  • and re-install the Bitwarden add-on

It happened after the last update of Firefox on Ubuntu 20.04

  • from 109.0.1 to 110.0,
  • and before that from 109.0 to 109.0.1

Anyone with the same issue? Is it a bug or FF side effect?

No issues here using Debian 11 (FF 102.7.0 ESR plus BW extension), which is where Ubuntu comes from as a derivative. Just an FYI.

What’s https://server/identity/accounts/prelogin ? Is that a legacy API, because I get a 404 from Rocket.

For https://server/identity/connect/token I get an incorrect 400, the error is wrong/not matching experience with Android or web clients, “Username or password is incorrect. Try again”

I feel even though the error is different, a better explanation of what’s going on assists both issues.

Same here on Debian 11 Firefox 109.0 (64-bit)

After deleting extension, stopping firefox and reinstalling I now get ‘n is null’

After upgrade to Firefox 110.0.1 (64-bit) removing bitwarden extension & restart and reinstall.

‘n is still null’

Is there any other information I can usefully provide here? I’m having to use Chrome for the time being which I don’t much like.

According to a post in Reddit, you may be able to resolve the issue by the following:

  1. Uinstall the Bitwarden extension from Firefox.
  2. Reboot your computer.
  3. Reinstall the Bitwarden extension into Firefox.

Despite some initial scepticism, rebooting the machine & re-installing the plugin actually worked!
