The Bitwarden Extension in Firefox now automatically fills in the details to login (not the master password, but the PIN). Thus anyone who has access to the computer can get into my Bitwarden.
This has recently happened. It does not do this with Brave.
It does not seem a desirable feature. How do I get back to the old procedure where the PIN has to be actually entered

Bitwarden doesn’t do that. Firefox probably did. You should type this in the URL:
about:preferences#privacy
and turn off “Fill usernames and passwords automatically” and “Ask to save passwords.”
