Bitwarden Browser Firefox Autofill options don't save

I hope this is the right category - I didn’t find a bug/issue category, so I just went with this one.

I recently freshly set up Firefox on a MacBook and now I have this very annoying problem, that all options I change for autofill are not saved (I would like to change the URI matching, but it doesn’t work). Here is a demo of the issue:

Screen Recording 2026-05-18 at 09.08.491-HandBrake1-HandBrake.mp4 video-to-gif output image

As you can see in the gif, it saves settings from e.g. Account Security, but not from autofill. What is wrong here? I’m on MacOS 26.4.1 with Firefox 150.0.3 and Bitwarden 2026.4.0:

Version: 2026.4.0
SDK: ‘main (aaccd8d)’
Server version: 2026.4.2

@Johannski Welcome to the forum!

This indeed seems to be a current bug:

It seems to be only affecting Firefox. And though there could be a fix already, there is no official info, yet, when it will be available.

EDIT Jun 4, 2026: Extension 2026.5.0 is now available on Firefox / Mozilla extension store and it indeed resolves this issue here. If you don’t want to wait for the auto-update, trigger the update manually.

Thanks! I somehow missed that when googling. (Maybe because I first thought it was only connected to the URI matching. Thank you!

I have reinstalled, logout and back in, forced updates but i can not update settings in the extension. it changes itself back. Biggest issue is changing default uri for autofill is stuck on advanced.

Using waterfox on kubuntu 26.04

@zoe-tek Welcome to the forum!

And I’ve moved your post into a corresponding thread… see above.

Now I’m experiencing autofill not saving changes in settings. Using 2026.4.0 Firefox extension.

@southerndoc That’s another current bug – see above…

Thanks. Support wanted me to reinstall. Glad I didn’t.

Hopefully a fix will be released soon. This bug is so annoying.

I am unable to change the settings in the autofill settings.
If I open the firefox addon as a new window, I can see that whenever I click on that tab there’s a failure in the console of the browser:

Unhandled error in angular TypeError: can’t access property “pendingDefaultPasswordManagerApply”, t is undefined

This is most likely a bug in the current version of the extention.
Firefox 149.0.2 (64-bit)
Bitwarden (latest in the addon store at the time of posting)

@rafael.acurcio Welcome to the forum!

I have moved your post into a corresponding thread. And see above – it’s a known bug at the moment that seems to only affect the extension on Firefox.

This issue highlights how little (no) internal testing is done before releases. If this was a free product, I wouldn’t care. I pay for Bitwarden so I expect this stuff to be tested internally or through beta testing. I’m not paying for a subscription to be a beta tester.

Perhaps this feature request would be of interest to you.

When attempting to update my settings in the Firefox extension, I can check (enable/disable) the check boxes, but they do not save. There is no save button to actually save the settings and when I navigate away from the settings page, Autofill in my particular case, and then come back to the setting page, the settings I adjusted reverted to their previous state. I cannot get them to stay. It appears there might be an issue with the Firefox extension, but I’ve not tested this with another browser either.

I started having the same issue today, also on the Firefox extension. I installed brave to test it, and there were no issues on there.

@enigmafyv @kanrethad I have moved your post into the corresponding thread. See above… and: there are first signs that this is resolved with extension 2026.5.0. Bad news is, we have to wait until Mozilla approves it and “releases” it on their extension store.

PS: @kanrethad Welcome to the forum!

Waiting for 2026.5, you can downgrade to 2026.3 (and disable auto update, which is actually a good practice sometime).

Should I report a bug, with firefox extensioon (lastest version) i cannot edit the aditional option of the autofil, it always remain in “Advanced option” (not listed in the dropdown list) and each time i change it and come back it always remain advance option (making hard to select my right password in all the subdomain of my server related to different topics).

@softyoda Welcome to the forum! I have moved your comment into its on topic, so as not to high-jack the thread where you posted it. However, it is unclear what you are asking — the browser extension does not have an option named “Advanced option”; there is a separator label with the text “Advanced options” (shown between the URI match detection options “Never” and “Starts With”, but the “Advanced options” cannot be selected.

Could you please clarify whether you are describing the “Default URI Match Detection” option in the Settings > Autofill screen, or the “Match Detection” option for the Website (URI) field in the Edit Login screen?

Also, could you please post a screenshot showing what you are seeing?

Thanks, here are the screenshoot(s) :

feel free to open it in a new tab in fullscreen to read it better !
