??? lol I left Dashlane for Nitwarden thinking it will be the same experience but it doesn’t even have CC autofill?? This is a huge pain in the back
It does have it, but only in the browser extension. This feature request is for getting feature parity in the mobile apps.
It would be great if Bitwarden supported autofilling fields other than just usernames and passwords, like credit cards and addresses. This doc contains examples of how to handle credit card data autofill on Android.
Welcome, @matus201 to the community!
It can. See “Autofill Custom Fields | Bitwarden”.
Note: I moved this to “ask the community” since the feature already exists. If you have additional questions about auto-fill, feel free to ask. If not, click the “solved” checkmark next to my post.
I don’t see instructions on how to use autofill on Android, using the Android app. Can you share those? The link you shared mentions only the browser extension, but I am talking about the Android app (I have tagged my question as such).
@matus201 Welcome to the forum!
I now moved your posts into the corresponding feature request for autofill of cards and identities on the mobile apps.
Chrome and Brave in particular have been going in an “all or nothing” direction of having either the browser or a third-party password manager manage your passwords, identities/addresses, and credit cards. It used to be – at least in Brave’s case – that I could use Brave auto-fill for addresses and credit cards, while the passwords were handled by Bitwarden.
Bitwarden’s mobile credit card support has been fairly hit-or-miss, and the addresses/identities have just plain never worked. They both work fine on desktop browsers, though.
It seems the browsers are forcing me to choose one of two tradeoffs:
- Bitwarden - excellent for passwords, okay for credit cards, bad for addresses
- Brave/Chrome - nothing for passwords, excellent for credit cards and addresses
Having better identity/address support on mobile would go a long way.
Hey there, the team just rolled out support for credit card autofill on Android and support for identities is being worked on next, thanks for your patience!
As @dwbit just wrote, autofill for cards on Android was just introduced with the latest version of the mobile app: 2025.8.1 (which I only received yesterday via the PlayStore) – and autofill for identites is not there in any mobile app (Android/iOS). Therefore this feature request.
Feature name
Autofill Identity on forms in Mobile Devices.
Feature function
- What will this feature do differently?
- Autofills Items saved in identity in bitwarden.
- What benefits will this feature bring?
- It makes life really easy while filling out google forms for any registration forms.
Android IOS
Gotta Set up Custom Fields for those things, and they should work. Search for Custom Field and make note of the Ctrl-Shft-J combo to open the HTML Elements screen, where you can find the actual name to use for your Custom Field.
@harshit Welcome to the forum!
To clarify your request, are you asking for an automatic auto-fill (when the web page has been loaded in your browser), or manually triggered on demand?
It is very lacking not to have this feature on Android. No ability to fill out forms from identities in Bitwarden without copying and pasting each field. Poor user experience here!
It’s for mobile so, the it might use the android inline autofill functionality like bitwarden do.
@harshit @THEOCKID @macasauras I merged your posts with this feature request as the other one was a “duplicate” of this one.
Is there a way to track this feature progression?
@WhiteLytnin Welcome to the forum!
Current development plans are posted in Bitwarden’s public-facing Roadmap. Some development activities can also be gleaned from the pull requests posted on Github (e.g., in Bitwarden’s Android and iOS repositories).
@WhiteLytnin Welcome to the forum!
A pragmatic way to track is also to observe this Help Site: Autofill Cards & Identities | Bitwarden
Bitwarden does update most Help Sites when new features arrive.
You can also subscribe to the Release Notes - or track them here on the forum.
BTW, autofill for cards is available on Android - for Chromium browsers.
Is there a feature request to track Android Autofill of Identities? I know cards is in but curious on the other part
.
Hm, yeah – this one here.
(you can see it in the title…)
