Allow us to use Chrome's built in address and card autofill if we want and stop force disabling it

Welcome to the forum!

It should be possible, but if the options to enable payment/address autofill in Chrome are unavailable, then read on.

The setting “Make Bitwarden your default password manager” can be disabled in the Bitwarden browser extension (under Settings > Autofill), but some users have found that disabling this option does not always release Bitwarden’s hold on the browser’s autofill settings. A more definitive solution is to uninstall the Bitwarden browser extension, and then configure the browser settings:

  • Go to chrome://password-manager/settings, and ensure that everything is disabled there. For improved security, delete any passwords that may still be stored in your Chrome browser, by clicking the Delete data button.
  • Go to chrome://settings/payments in your Chrome browser, and make sure that “Save and fill payment methods” has been enabled.
  • Go to chrome://settings/addresses and ensure that this is all enabled.

After you have done this, reinstall the Bitwarden browser extension, and then make sure to always click Ignore instead of Make default if you see any prompt that asks “Make Bitwarden your default password manager?” (e.g., when you make adjustments to your autofill settings).
