Add keybord shortcut for Vault search (independently of the current folder)

Hi !
Thanks for a great product.

Could you add a shortcut for global search, independently on current location.

What is the useflow:

  1. Open BW (1st time) → All Items are focused and thus search field searches everywhere (and Ctrl+F as well)
  2. But if I switch to a folder the seach field also switched to “Search folder” and in order to search everywhere I need to manually switch to All items first. With mouse!

It would be great to have a shortcut to run vault search unconditionally. E.g. Ctrl+Shift+F or anything similar. In addiotion to the regular Ctrl+F.

P.S. Would potentially contribute. Just give a hint where to start.

KR, Alex

Hello,

First-Time Open:

The search field defaults to “All Items,” allowing a global search.
Shortcut: Ctrl+F.
Switch to a Folder:

The search field changes context to “Search Folder.”
To search “All Items” again, you need to manually switch using the mouse.
Pain Point:

No shortcut exists to directly run a global vault search (“All Items”) without manually toggling.
Suggested Flow Enhancement
Shortcut for Global Vault Search:

Introduce a dedicated shortcut, such as Ctrl+Shift+F, that runs an “All Items” search regardless of the current context. This avoids manually switching.
Behavior:

Ctrl+F: Maintains current context-aware search (e.g., within a folder or filtered view).
Ctrl+Shift+F: Forces a global search (vault-wide).
Optionally Include:

A toggle in settings to enable or disable this shortcut for flexibility.
A visual cue or tooltip indicating that Ctrl+Shift+F is available for global searches.

Best Regards
