The new web UI no longer shows a “Tab” button at the bottom of the popup window. The Tab button view is very efficient and helpful when using Bitwarden. The Tab button is greatly missed for its functionality.
Please add back the Tab button-view.
The old “tab” tab contained
- login items as “autofill suggestions”
- cards
- identities
And those three all had the “auto-fill functionality”. (there it was without a choice: click on the item = auto-fill)
Now with extension version 2025.1.3 (already available in the stores of Edge and Chrome/Chromium browsers), these two settings in Settings → Autofill:
- Show cards as autofill suggestions on Vault view
- Show identities as autofill suggestions on Vault view
were changed to:
- Always show cards as autofill suggestions on Vault view
- Always show identities as autofill suggestions on Vault view
Thereby, cards and identities get a) always shown and b) get back their old auto-fill functionality.
I think, in a future release, we will get back sub-headers/sub-categories in the auto-fill suggestions for the cards and identities, as you can see here: [PM-17186] - Add Card and Identity sub-headers to Autofill Suggestions by jaasen-livefront · Pull Request #13068 · bitwarden/clients · GitHub (already merged, but I don’t see the same thing as in the short video in my own browser extension 2025.1.3)
So, I guess what I’m trying to say: most of the old “tab” tab things and functionalities are already there again or are coming back with one of the next releases.
