Translation Glossary
All 4 projects use a shared glossary that is is accessible from the language page or
while in the editor.
**** please note the glossary can be found under the desktop project.***
Find the glossary
While in the string editor, tap the bookmark icon on the right side of the screen
Edit an existing glossary Concept
Tap the 3 dots and then edit.
Add a new term to an existing glossary concept
Tap the βADD TERMβ button (term details are on the left side of the screen, the right side is reserved for high level concept details).
Concept β the highest-level terminology element that contains concept-level data (e.g., concept definition, subject, etc.), including language-level (i.e., term language) and term-level data (e.g., term, the termβs part of speech, type, etc.). Simply put, a concept incorporates glossary terms and their variations with multiple translations and other relevant information.
Concept details:
- Definition β concept definition.
- Subject β a branch of knowledge the concept is related to.
- Note β short notes about a concept that might be helpful to translators.
- URL β URL to the web page with relevant information about a concept.
- Figure β URL to the relevant image.
Term details:
- Part of speech β e.g., noun, verb, adjective, etc.
- Type β e.g., full form, acronym, abbreviation, etc.
- Status β preferred, admitted, not recommended, obsolete.
- Gender β term gender.
- Description β term description.
- Note β short notes about a term that might be helpful to translators.
- URL β URL to the web page with relevant information about a term.
Creating a new glossary concept
Tap the + icon (please search for terms before creating new ones).
High level glossary details are added to the right side, the left side includes any added terms.
Switch from project strings to glossary
To navigate to the glossary directly, switch to the desktop project and tap the project at the top of the screen and then select the glossary.
