In the regular non-portable version, you can also set the environment variable:
ELECTRON_NO_UPDATER=1
This has the advantages of:
Removing the environment variable allows the auto-update to continue.
It requires UAC confirmation/elevated status to install over.
Where exactly? User variable or system variable? Do you mean I have to create such value variable and set its value to 1? Please be more specific.
Window11 Settings > (search for) enviro > Edit environment variables for your account
Put in as a User variable.
